With the holidays in full swing, the stress of finding the perfect gift is heightened. Countless people struggle to find their loved ones the right gift and spend hundreds of dollars buying meaningless ones. Why not DIY a gift?

Do It Yourself gifts are homemade and sincere. They have recently soared in popularity due to social media sites such as Pintrest. Most DIY gifts are easy, fun, and cheaper on the wallet. They usually come with step by step directions and many people enjoy and appreciate them. One perfect example of an easy DIY gift for any loved one are bath bombs.

You will need:

  • 1 cup baking soda
  • 1 cup citric acid
  • 1/2 cup coconut oil
  • 10 drops of essential oil (lavender works well, but you can use whatever you like )
  • food coloring
  • bath bomb molds
  • two bowls for mixing

In a small bowl, mix dry ingredients. In a separate bowl, melt coconut oil, let cool, and add essential oils. To make your bath bombs pop with color, add a few drops of food coloring to the liquid ingredients very slowly in order to not activate the citric acid.

Then, mix both liquid and dry ingredients together until they form a texture of damp sand. Pack the mixture into the molds and squish together tightly, getting rid of all air pocket. Carefully remove the bath bomb from the mold and place on a tray allowing it to dry for 48 hours.

Bath bombs are soothing and believe it or not, both males and females can use them if desired. They are a nice way to treat yourself and your friends and family. Hopefully, with DIY gifts and ideas such as these, the holiday season can be more enjoyable rather than stressful.
