Though different fads are always going to be ever-changing in our fast-paced society, there are still some trends that will continue to thrive for many years from now, including Apple products and social media. Additionally, a trend that has been around since its construction is going on vacations to Disney. There is something truly magical about traveling to the “place where dreams come true” and it has been a destination for families for years.

There also happens to be clothing trends that coincide with traveling to Disney. One of these is the wearing Mickey Mouse ear hats, or headbands with festive ears that represent some aspect of the magic Disney brings to someone. These ears are available online or sold in the parks, and are usually pricey.

Kayla Turpin, a soon-to-be graduate of the Class of 2018, is one such Disney enthusiast. She has made it her job to create ears for people who desire them for their annual vacations to these marvelous parks, both in Orlando, Florida and Anaheim, California.

After a recent trip to Disney World for her eighteenth birthday, Turpin was shocked at how much money she would have to spend on the trend before her trip, she thought, ‘Hey, I think I can do these myself.”

From there, a business opportunity blossomed. Turpin buys all of her materials and made a few for herself before taking off to Florida. While there, Turpin said, “When I was there, everyone wanted them and asked me where I got them.”

A month later, she decided to make them for the public to order online. She has Disney princesses and other Disney characters inspiration among her collection, which she came up with all on her own and put up for sale on an Etsy shop for reasonable prices.

Today, Turpin receives several orders a day for her own designed ears and others that she custom makes from people’s own ideas. She has truly captured magic in her ears, and, being the Disney enthusiast she is, the ears are made with love and care. Turpin’s success with a start-up personal business has inspired her to continue creating things from scratch and crafting to make ears for every Disney adventurer.

The ears are available on Etsy, and you can contact her and look through ears on instagram: @kisstheears.co
