In wrestling, senior Sam Lindblom captured his third straight ECC title and Class M state titles in the 152 lb. weight division. Lindblom, along with freshman Logan Smith in the 106 lb. division and senior Justin Keating 182 lb. division, will be competing this weekend at the State Open meet. Smith and Keating were finalists at the Class M meet.

In competitive cheer, the squad finished first runner up in ECC Medium division with a great performance, noted by many who know the sport as one of the best performances by the team in several years. The squad has the NECA competition this weekend and states in two weeks.

In girls’ basketball, senior Vanessa Kobyluck earned a spot in the 1000-point club at home on Feb 18. In the ECC tournament, the team defeated Stonington in the quarterfinals, and will play New London tonight at Plainfield High School in the semifinals.

Boys’ basketball will play its final regular season home game, which is senior night, tonight against Stonington.

Senior Kazi Walker was selected as a finalist for Connecticut Association of Athletic Directors state essay grant “How has athletics impacted my life”. Walker will be honored with a  $500 check at the annual awards banquet on Wednesday March 23.
