Our athletic teams are a part of the Eastern Connecticut Conference and play various teams in multiple sports. With so many different teams and sports, the question is: who is our biggest rival?

Senior McKenna June: “East Lyme is Waterford’s biggest rival because we’re right next to each other. I get excited when Waterford plays them because I like to see them play. In cheer though, it has to be Montville  because they are usually pretty good competition.”

Senior Connor Chung  “East Lyme because we play them in the [annual] Thanksgiving football game.”

Junior Chelsey Richards: “East Lyme is our biggest rival because it just is. It’s always fun playing them in football on Thanksgiving.”

Junior Brianna Jones: “East Lyme definitely. We both don’t like each other, even the teachers have something to say about East Lyme.”

Sophomore Evan Spohn: “East Lyme because we always play them in football on Thanksgiving and it’s the town right over the bridge.”

Junior Jacklyn Lavoie: “110% Stonington. It’s definitely not East Lyme anymore because we’re friends with people in East Lyme and we don’t normally play them during the regular season.”

Senior Brittany Sylvia: “Fitch is our biggest rival, at least in softball because it’s one of the best teams in our district and we want to beat them. Every sport has a different rival though, because each school is better at different sports.”

Sophomore Niko Thibeault: New London High [in football] because everyone’s always talking trash back and forth to each other, usually it’s a good game.”

Freshman Sonny Pezzello: Montville [because] It’s our best competition.”
