March is the month where people start to get antsy for warmer weather. Even though it’s not quite beach weather yet, you can now finally visit the ice cream places everyone waits for.

Rita’s Italian Ice in New London is the perfect treat after a long day. The shop is all inside and serves Italian ice as well as creates cakes and cookies. Rita’s is open seven days a week from 11:00am-8:00pm Monday through Thursday and 11:00am-9:00pm Friday through Sunday.

Cowlick’s Creamery is a local Waterford ice cream shop. Cowlick’s serves a variety of frozen yogurt as well as ice cream and topping options. Also in the shop are barrels of candy, adding to the sweetness of the shop. Cowlick’s opens Friday, March, 17, 2017 and will be open Thursday through Sunday from 1:00pm-8:00pm.

In downtown Niantic you will find Frosty Treat, another local favorite. Frosty Treat is an ice cream shop that also cooks all the American favorites. From hot dogs to curly fries, Frosty Treat is the spot. The shop is open daily from 11:00am through 9:00pm.
