2014: A Year to Change for the Better

As soon as the ball drops at midnight on January 1, there’s a celebration of the new year; and with each new year, comes a wave of  new year’s resolutions. Typically resolutions revolve around the goal to exercise more or procrastinate less. Students have different resolutions that they aim to put in place in 2014.

Senior Zachary Loomis said, “I plan to be a better me. For the first time in a long time, I know what I’m good at, and I plan on working hard to make sure I can get better at it. Between poetry and fencing, I want to achieve the highest recognition in each, even if it takes more than just this year to achieve those goals.”

Junior Erin Niedzielski said, “ I do have a few new year resolutions. Mostly having to do with school and doing better because I have a hard time in school. Being a better person and focusing more on helping others that need my help. I plan to study more and pay attention in class and be nicer to people.”

Whether it’s becoming a better person individually or aiming to do better in school, nearly everyone has a resolutions to start 2014 off the right way.
