Science Bowl Team Makes Final Eight in NE Regional Competition

Two teams competed  in the Northeast Regional Science Bowl, hosted by the University of Connecticut, against other secondary schools from all over the northeastern United States, testing their knowledge in all major areas of science and mathematics.

The A Team of Joe Roessler, Gabe Morosky, Neel Shah, Matt Tytla and Ryan Kohl was undefeated in five round robin matches.  In the championship round, they made it to the final eight.
“Both of the games that they lost came down to the very last question. They definitely had the ability to win it all, but fell just short of the mark,” said Mr. Kane, one of the Science Bowl advisers.

Matt Hausmann, Gina Ruggeri, Ian Sajokowitz, Edi Muhka and Nexhat Muhka made up the other team in the competition. This team won a few games in the round robin matches, and will be returning to next year’s competition.

Mr. Kane added, “Mr. O’Connor and I are very proud of these students and their performance.  If you see them in the near future please congratulate them on their outstanding performance and their dedication.”
