Waterford High School Dance Show

The dance show is creeping up on us again and it excites a lot of people.  Waterford’s dance team includes some of the school’s better athletes, and they perform on only two days a year.  Expect to be amazed.

During winter sports, athletes have, on average, three games a week.  The special thing about the dancers is that they practice all winter to perform for their peers during one weekend in March.  This dedication to dance means that the show is something that needs to be marked on a Waterford resident’s calendar.

Senior Seth Hoagland, who will be appearing in the guys’ piece, said, “I am really going to show my talent this year.  I am not held to a routine and can do whatever I want. The finale is the real show.”

Seth thinks that the Ghost Busters piece he performs in will be the one to remember.

But there are other dancers who are in many other pieces.  Senior Lauren Kang, for example will be in eight.

Lauren, who is very excited for the show said, “I can’t wait for the senior piece.  It is a special piece choreographed by a senior (Kristyn Hanner) and that makes it very exciting.  It’s a piece the dancers work up to.

This year marks the 20th production of the Waterford High School Dance Show; and, former teacher and choreographer Paula McDougal will be bringing back the alumni.  It will be a special night for many ages.  The dancers have been working tirelessly for the past four months preparing themselves for the shows on Saturday, March 14 and Sunday, March 15.
