As the looming presidential election continues to make its presence among the daily news and current events, it is crucial that voters and even those who cannot vote get a clear picture of who will potentially be running the country.

One candidate, who was a little hard to see coming into the political world, is well-known businessman, television personality, and multi-billionaire Donald Trump. He is running as a Republican and, as many people have taken notice to, is striving for new reforms and ideas that have some people a bit confused and, at times, stupefied.

However, his positions do make sense and have skill implanted behind them that if a voter would put down his defenses and discriminations, would see that he might in fact aid in our country’s bettering, when taking a deeper look  Some of Trump’s positions include:

  • One of the most talked about of his positions is building a wall that would be on the boundary that separates the United States from Mexico. According to Trump, the wall would stop people from being able to come freely in and out of the  U.S., often times gangs smuggling drugs. He also intends to use specific tactics to get the country of Mexico to pay for the wall.
  • He plans to rid the system of the current healthcare and incorporate one that is readily available to everyone, makes less economic issues occur, and that is much more affordable than the current healthcare.
  • He has established a serious point of view regarding the Second Amendment rights. He expresses strong feelings about being able to maintain and the dire need to protect American citizens’ right to protect themselves and their overall rights as people living in the United States.
  • He plans to put limitations on immigration in order to protect the interest and safety of American citizens, and has outlined that “a nation is not a nation without borders.” He has depicted that any immigration should be for the better of this country, and help the United States create more jobs and overall income of the country.

So far, Trump holds 49.5 percent of votes in the Republican primary polls, with Ted Cruz with 26.9 percent, and John Kasich following with 17.1 percent. As the National Convention in July is only a few months away, it is clear that if Trump maintains his popular vote marathon among the upcoming primaries, he will be in a good position to become the Republican candidate for president.  With the May 3 Indiana primary holding 57 delegates, Trump winning even half of them will put him in front for the nomination.
