This is our second time going to the Sticky Situations tasting room in Old Mistick Village, and it has been a delightful experience each time that we have gone.
We recently went back to the store, and from the moment we walked in, we were taken to a cozy sort of cabin and were almost immediately greeted by one of the workers. The workers made us feel even more comfortable with their warm smiles and bubbly personalities, matching the warm environment of the store.
The store has several tables, with tasting samples for honey and cards next to them explaining where it is harvested from, the price, recommendations for both food and tea pairings (which also appear on the jar), and a honey fun fact.
The many different flavors of honey are made by harvesting honey from single-crop farms across the country and the world. By having honey from single-crop farms, the flavor of what is being pollinated is strong and transfers into the honey.
Our favorite honey flavors were lemon and strawberry.
The strawberry honey tasted like sweet, but mild strawberries, perfect for any honey lovers that also adore strawberries or just want to try something new. A small jar (four ounces) of strawberry honey costs $9.95, while a large container (eight ounces) costs $16.95.
The lemon honey was bright and refreshing with its tart, strong lemon flavor. This honey was perfect for anyone who loves the tart flavor of lemons. The store recommends it with grilled shrimp skewers, pan-seared scallops, or a mixed green salad. The prices were in line with the strawberry honey, which are the standard prices for all honey options in Sticky Situations.
Sticky Situations is not just limited to honey lovers; they also sell vinegar and olive oil. Additionally, they rec

ently opened a new expansion to their store dedicated to truffles and charcuterie boards; there is something for everyone to find.

The store has a wide selection of vinegar options that come in many unique flavors, ranging from pomegranate to apple pie. The vinegars have cards next to them, with recommended food pairings, oil pairings, and honey pairing as well as a little sticker if it is from a small business.
We have had nothing but positive experiences at Sticky Situations. It is a unique place and a must-visit if you ever visit Mistick Village. The welcoming atmosphere, friendly staff, and novel tasting receive a five-star rating from us.
