At one of the largest resort casinos in North America, Foxwoods Resort Casino, sits a restaurant called the Guy Fieri’s Kitchen and Restaurant.
This restaurant had a large storefront, which catches people’s attention when they were walking by. One of those was my friends and I. We went to this restaurant for a special occasion and as we walked in, we were greeted with a clean atmosphere, excellent employees, and fancy architecture. It had a variety of seating options: window seats , booths, or tables. The most coveted seats were next to the floor to ceiling windows.
Guys Fieri’s is a little expensive compared to other restaurants with an average of 20-30 dollars per entry. Once we were seated by the hostess, we were greeted by our waiter. He greeted us with a warm smile and got started on our drinks. I ordered a Shirley Temple, which was about six dollars.
After a few minutes we went ahead and ordered our food. I ordered the “MAC DADDY MAC-N-CHEESE” for $20 and a medium-rare steak on top for an extra $10. Surprisingly for a restaurant with many people during lunch the food came out fairly quick.
The mac & cheese included sharp cheddar, provolone, smoked gouda, SMC (used to make the cheese more creamy), garlic bread crumbs, shaved scallions, and crispy onion straws. The mac and cheese had a great flavor of cheese, and the top layer was baked to perfection. As for the steak, I do wish they had cooked it with a more crispy crust or outside, but overall the steak had an evenly cooked top and bottom. Even though the price of my dish was $30, it was a large portion of food that I couldn’t finish in one sitting
.
The restaurant is also perfect for taking pictures with your friends during your time there. The lighting in the restaurant wasn’t too dark nor too bright, so it was really easy for us to get the perfect pictures. Our booth was in a circle and the design of the seats was something I haven’t seen before. It was comfortable and clean.
Overall, Guys Fieri’s offers a great variety of amazing food for their customers and even though it’s a little expensive the quality and portion of the food makes up for it. I could definitely recommend and see myself coming back to this restaurant for a special occasion next time.
