Baseball:

5/13 v Killingly: W 8-1

Senior Tommy Pezzolesi had three hits, two runs batted in, and scored twice as the Lancers defeated Killingly 8-1 on Tuesday. Senior Colin Harrington went the distance and his win-loss record is now 4-0, as the Lancers improve to 12-2.

After a protest after Montville’s 5-4 win, the last two innings were replayed. In those two innings, the Lancers lost 7-6 and fell to 12-3.

Senior Sam Strout had two hits, two runs scored, and a run batted in, while sophomore Jake Mangual had three hits with two runs scored, in the Lancers 13-7 loss to Montville Thursday. The Lancers, ranked No. 4 in the New Haven Register’s Top 10 poll, fell to 12-4 for the year.

5/15 v Ledyard: L 6-7

5/17 v Fitch: L 10-17

Senior Josh Perry and junior Spencer Sgandurra each pulled hat tricks as the Lancers downed St.Bernard/Wheeler 10-6 . Sophomore Zach Nailon added two goals as the Lancers improved to 4-9 on the season

Junior Michael Beltran scored all six of the Lancers’ goals in Thursday’s 7-6 loss to Ledyard. Sophomore Taylor Huta recorded 10 saves as the Lancers fell to 4-10 for the year.

Boys’ Tennis:

5/12 v Fitch: W 6-1

5/14 v St Bernard: W 4-3

5/15 v Stonington: W 7-0

The Lancers only dropped one match en route to their twelfth win of the season, defeating Fitch 6-1. The Lancers overall record is 11-1

The No. 3 doubles match of sophomore Evan Burdsall/freshman Hugh Sokoloski made the difference in the Lancers 4-3 win over St Bernards. Seniors Shashwat Kala and Benny Dong, and junior Willie Dong all won singles matches as the Lancers improve to 12-1

Senior Alan Luner, Shashwat Kala, and the Dong brothers made short work of their singles play as the Lancers defeated Stonington 7-0 Friday. The doubles teams of senior Adam Howard/ junior Samson Herbert, juniors Matt Hausmann/ Mike Castelpoggi, and Burdsall/Sokoloski completed the shutout to bring the Lancers to 13-1 for the season.

Girls’ Lax:

5/12 v Bacon: W 18-6

5/13 v St. Bernard: W 13-4

5/15 v Ledyard: L 6-8

5/16 v Old Lyme: L 10-19

The Lancers downed Bacon 18-6 on Monday to run their record to 6-4 on the year.

Senior Julia Peay had two goals and two assists, while freshman Mary Grace Wyatt pulled a hat trick in the Lancers 13-4 win over St. Bernard Tuesday. The Lancers is 7-4 for the year.

Senior McKenzie Griffith-Potter scored two goals, but the Lancers fell to Ledyard 8-6 Thursday. The team is now 7-5.

Julia Peay scored four times and junior Sarah Lamothe scored twice as the Lancers fell to Old Lyme 19-10. The Lancers are now 7-6 for the season.

Girls’ Tennis:

5/12 v Fitch: W 6-1

5/15 v Stonington: W 4-3

The Lancers maintain a perfect season, continuing their win streak to twelve with a 6-1 win over Fitch on Monday. Juniors Nisha Rajamohan and Lauren Rahr, and senior Lexi Moger all won their singles matches. The teams of juniors Katie Lewis/Jessica Hudson, seniors Alyssa Serafino/Phoebe Lee, and freshman Alaina Moger/ senior Tarlynn Tone-Pah-Hote swept doubles play.

Lauren Rahr was the only singles winner, but it served as more than enough as the Lancers downed eight time defending champion Stonington 4-3 to clinch the ECC Medium Division title. The doubles teams of Lewis/Hudson, Serafino/Lee, and (Alaina) Moger/Tone-Pah-Hote swept as the team ran their record to 13-0 for the season

Golf:

5/12 v Old Lyme: Cancelled

5/13 v St Bernard: W 7-0

5/14 v East Lyme: L 1-6

5/15 v New London: W 7-0

Mondays match vs Old Lyme was cancelled

Sophomore Brett Collins earned medalist honors by shooting a 42 as the Lancers defeated St. Bernard 7-0 on Tuesday. Junior Matt Shea shot a 43, while senior Mitch Mirabito finished with a 44. The Lancers are now 7-3 for the season.

Mitch Mirabito had the best score of the day at a 44 as the Lancers fell to East Lyme 6-1 on Wednesday. The Lancers are now 7-4 for the season.

Matt Shea medaled with a 39 as the Lancers defeated New London 7-0. Mirabito, Brett Collins, and freshman Stephen LaVoie also won as the Lancers improved to 8-4 for the season.

Softball:

5/12 v Killingly: W 15-2

5/14 v Griswold: L 4-9

5/15 v Bacon:

Sophomore Sara Buscetto, junior Jodi Weiss, and senior Elaina Sullivan had three hits apiece as the Lancers defeated Killingly 15-2 to improve to 10-4 for the season. Sullivan had four runs batted in, and two of Weiss’s hits were doubles, while bringing in three runs.

Senior Megan Elphick had two hits as the Lancers fell to Griswold 9-4 on Wednesday. The Lancers are now 10-5 for the year.

Sophomore Kazi Walker and junior Tori VanCleave combined efforts on the mound, striking out five, as the Lancers downed Bacon Academy 9-1 on Thursday. Junior Sarah Pacheco added three hits and two runs batted in as the Lancers improved to 11-5 for the season.

Track and Field:

5/13 v Killingly: Boys’: W 112-38                    Girls’: L 65-85

The Lancers split their meet against Killingly, with the boys’ team winning 112-38, and the girls’ team falling 85-65.

Senior Julio Gil-Martinez won the 100 and the 200, while running on the winning 4×100 and 4×400 relay teams. Junior Malik Lewis took both hurdles events. Junior Dan Clark won the 1600 and the 3200. Senior Bishme Sheppard won the 400 and ran alongside Gil-Martinez on the 4×100 and 4×400 relay teams. The Lancers are now 2-3 for the season.

Senior Savonnah Artis won the 100, the 200, and the triple jump. Freshman Isabella Jenne won the discus and the shot put, while sophomore Jeannette Mooney won the 1600 and the 3200. The lancers are now 1-4 for the season.
