As Thanksgiving rolls around, there’s so much to be thankful for. To celebrate the upcoming holiday, I asked students and staff to share what they are thankful for and why. Here’s what they had to say.
Many students shared that they’re thankful for their families, who have supported them unconditionally.
Kissila Martins (Sophomore) says, “I am thankful for my family because they always manage to make me a better version of myself.”
Mrs. Ramos (Culinary Teacher) says, “I am thankful for my family because I love them, they make me happy, they’re supportive, and they’re my safe place.”
Reese Irwin (Sophomore) says, “I am thankful for my mom because I can tell her everything and she will give me advice without yelling at me.”
Jillian Saad (Senior) says, “I am thankful for my friends and family and my dog, Cash.”
Jax Nolda (Freshman) says, “I am thankful for my family because they support me through all of football.”
Mr. Deon (School Security)“I am thankful for my sons because they are great and mean the world to me.”
Sal Bonnano (Sophomore) says, “I am thankful for my mom and my bed because my mom is really compassionate and makes me a lot of good food. My bed is my favorite part of my day and I really like to sleep because it is really important.”
Along with family, more students went on to share that they are thankful for the relationships and friendships that they have made along the way.
Chloe Landry (Junior) says, “I am thankful for my boyfriend, Lucas because he’s so nice.”
Tati Urso (Freshman) says, “I am thankful for my friends because I love hanging out with them.”
Halley Gomes (Sophomore) says, “I am thankful for my best friend, Layla because she always makes me so happy.”
Aj Stefano (Freshman) says, “I am thankful for Mason Dyer because he does all my work for me.”
Yancel Echevarria (Sophomore) says, “I am thankful for my girlfriend Layla because she brings a lot of joy and comfort into my life and she’s always there to give me her love and support when I need it most.”
Reese Firmin (Freshman) says, “I am thankful for my friends because they make school and sports more enjoyable.”
Mr. Florio (Math Teacher) says, “I am thankful that I have really good kids in all my classes.”
Alexandra Caba (Sophomore) says, “I am thankful for Aiden because he is really nice.”
Gabe Freeman (Sophomore) says, “I am thankful for my girlfriend Keira because she is really nice to me and helps me with my homework.”
Mr. Ash (History Teacher) says, “I am thankful for my 3A class.”
Elijah Vaughan (Senior) says, “I am thankful for Parker Spencer because he is my best friend.”
Mr. Basset (Math teacher) says, “I am thankful for my advisory and the great kids I have in it.”
Trinity Flynn (Senior) says, “I am thankful for my friends because they all do so much for me and support me. I am also thankful for my boyfriend, Haken.”
Beyond friends and family, students and staff also went on to share a wide variety of things they’re thankful for. From sports and school, to their favorite games and pets.
Maria Paloka (Senior) says, “I am thankful that I am living in a new country with better education and opportunities and how I have adapted to change very quickly throughout the years.”
Mrs. Carmack (Science teacher) says, “I am thankful for my dogs and that my puppy is fully potty trained.”
Angelina Brooks (Freshman) says,“I am thankful for sports like field hockey and track because they keep me healthy and active and if I didn’t do them, I would be a couch potato.”
Ms. Keating (English teacher) says, “I am thankful for incredible movies and books and tv shows, people are so clever and imaginative and it’s just such a treasure. I am also thankful for my students and hope they are happy.”
Starlly Gallup & Briella Sterns (Freshman) said, “I am thankful for Taco Bell because it tastes good.”
Mason Dyer (Sophomore) says, “I am thankful for Clash Royale because it takes away all my problems.”
Norm (School resource officer) says, “The first thing that comes to mind is to be alive after my bad car crash.”
Laila Besade (Freshman) says, “I am thankful for food because I am always hungry.”
Mrs. Marchese (Spanish teacher) says, “I am thankful for my pets because they keep me going.”

Blackburn (School security) says, “I am thankful for my health, I am thankful that we live in a great town and we have a great town and created a great environment in our school where students and staff feel safe.”
Aiden Giles (Sophomore) says, “I am thankful for Alexandra and football. I am thankful for Alexandra because she is nice and I am thankful for football because I enjoy playing it.”
Cameron Burich (Freshman) says, “I am thankful for sports because they keep me going.”
Mr. Ryan (Math teacher) says, “I am thankful for everything because “La Vida Baya.” Life is beautiful.”
Parker Spencer (Senior) says, “I am thankful for food because I need food to help me survive. I am also thankful for my shelter, this school and my education.”
