Upcoming WHS Production Puffs

Jack Donovan, Writer

This February 9th through 11th, WHS Drama will be putting on the play Puffs, or Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic and Magic. This play is loosely based on the bestselling book and film series Harry Potter but is set from an alternative perspective. Instead of following Harry Potter and the Gryffindor House (called the Braves in this work due to copyright laws), this play follows the same events through the eyes of the group of students often seen as the weakest: the Hufflepuffs (or “Puffs” due to the aforementioned copyright rules). This story puts a comedic twist on the eventful seven years that occur during Harry’s tenure at Hogwarts and takes a “tell it as it is” style approach instead of glorifying the main character. The play has been described as “fast-paced,” “witty,” and “heartfelt” by some of the members of the cast. For any fans of the Harry Potter series, this play will be a must-watch. Starring WHS Drama veterans like John Morgan as Wayne Hopkins and Tighe Burridge as Oliver Rivers, and rising star Amaris Rosado as Megan Jones, Puffs is sure to be an entertaining watch.
