Principal’s First Year

Tricia Hauser

It’s always scary going to a new school, but being a new principal takes the cake. It is challenging. The goal is have students like you but, at the same time, respect you. It all has to equal out.

This year happens to be Andre Hauser’s first year as principal. He has made a great impression on students because he is helpful and cares for them, while maintaining the expectation that they adhere to the rules. And, he has generously written many letters of recommendation for seniors.

“I think he did a very good job. He’s been willing to try new things such as a new advisory structure, the Mr. Lancer pageant, and bring-your-own-device to school. He seems young at heart and understands the students,” said senior Raquel Delgadillo.

It is hard to believe that Mr. Hauser has been at the high school for just over a year.

“I have had a great time this year as the new principal (not that it feels “new” anymore since I have been here for just over a year). I think that we have had a very successful year as a school. The school has accomplished so much this year, and I am proud. It’s hard to believe that the year is almost over. It is even harder to believe that, at this time last year, I didn’t know anybody in Waterford,” stated Principal Andre Hauser.

Keeping a school working smoothly is a big job with lots of responsibility and Mr. Hauser seems to be good at it.
